Job summary

KCC Companies in Simpsonville, Kentucky, is seeking a hands-on NPD Electrical Engineering Leader to guide a team of engineers through development, design, and validation of new HVAC equipment. You will drive from concept to customer, focusing on system integration, design standards, manufacturing efficiency, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience leading a team of high-performance employees is required.
• Proficiency in electrical system design and validation methods is required.
• Experience in project planning and execution is required.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical or other Electrical CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system design and component specification for HVAC equipment.
• Ensure team efficacy by delegating and supporting tasks across design, validation and manufacturing of multiple projects.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Configuration, Equipment Controls and Lab Engineering teams.
• Research and evaluate products, parts and processes for performance, cost-effectiveness and reliability.
• Develop and lead processes for new product introduction related to electrical design and configuration.
• Support testing in HVAC equipment testing laboratories and help develop test plans.

Summary

As NPD Electrical Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Electrical engineers through the development, design and validation of new HVAC equipment. In this hands-on position, you will work within a cross-functional group on the development, design, building and validation of new products. You will be responsible for taking products from concept to customer with a focus on system and component integration, engineering design standards, manufacturing efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with, provide leadership on and approve electrical system design and component specification.
• Ensure team efficacy by delegating and supporting tasks as they relate to the design, validation and manufacturing of HVAC equipment spanning multiple projects.
• Facilitate collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Configuration, Equipment Controls and Lab Engineering teams.
• Research and evaluate products, parts and processes for performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
• Develop and lead processes for new product introduction as it relates to electrical system design and configuration.
• Participate in the development of test plans for new designs and support testing in an HVAC equipment testing laboratory.
• Maintain a working knowledge of applicable standards and lead efforts to implement and improve internal design standards
• Analyze test results and pilot construction and assist in appropriate system design changes.
• Work with cross-functional team to develop and improve internal processes.
• Provide support for the manufacturing of prototype, assessment, and verification builds in a fully operational production facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Experience leading a team of high-performance employees
• Proficiency in electrical system design and validation methods
• Experience in project planning and execution
• Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical or experience in other Electrical CAD software.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft products
• Strong hands-on/mechanical aptitude
• Above average verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Key Skills

• Proficient with hand tools, gauges, multimeters, and other electrical testing equipment
• Experience receiving pertinent safety training (arc flash, lockout/tagout)
• Ability to perform tasks in an office, testing lab, or manufacturing environment
• Strong decision making, organizational and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome unforeseen obstacles
• Ability to analyze different types of test data and apply real-world solutions
