Job summary

Optikos is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Product Development Team in Wakefield, MA. You will design, develop, test, and support electronics for metrology products, collaborating with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, troubleshooting, and documentation. You will report to the Senior Electrical Engineer and contribute to various electrical control architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of electrical design experience including schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of analog and digital circuits.
• Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller-based designs.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Create schematics, layouts, bring-up, and testing for circuit boards used in optical metrology systems.
• Assist with development and implementation of electrical control architectures for new and existing products.
• Maintain configuration control of circuit board designs and related documentation.
• Test, troubleshoot, and validate circuit boards and electrical subsystems.
• Support cable harness design and collaborate with mechanical engineers on integration drawings.
• Provide technical support to Production regarding electronics integration and assembly best practices.
• Prepare engineering documentation, including design records, test procedures, and work instructions.
• Participate in regulatory and CE marking activities as required.
• Interface with suppliers, manufacturing personnel, and other internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
