Job summary
CannonDesign in Chicago, IL is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team under licensed engineers. You will design lighting, power distribution, communications, and fire alarm systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients, and prepare construction drawings and specs.
The ideal candidate has a BS or MS in Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred), 4+ years of experience, and familiarity with Revit.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required; ABET accreditation preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic to moderately complex construction drawings and specifications of electrical engineering systems for building construction.
- Design lighting, power distribution, communications and/or telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education and commercial clients, including fire alarm systems.
- Analyze engineering documents and layout systems for components and parts; research and respond to design issues.
- Participate in value engineering sessions with Architectural/Engineering team.
- Apply knowledge of electrical code for building power distribution design and circuiting.
- Recommend improvements with reference standards to improve quality and coordination.
