Job summary

Rosendin in Chicago, IL is seeking an Engineer II to provide technical engineering information and support to senior engineers, ensuring power distribution, lighting, grounding, energy conservation and value engineering for state-of-the-art, constructible projects.

You will oversee junior engineers, review submittals, develop operation sequences, support testing and commissioning, perform system modeling, and coordinate with disciplines, clients, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Typically 2+ years of engineering experience.
• LEED AP is desired.

Responsibilities

• Oversee junior engineers, designers, and staff assigned to your work or team.
• Review, comment on, and process equipment and system submittals with the Engineer of Record.
• Generate electrical specifications for the project.
• Develop sequences of operation for electrical systems.
• Support equipment testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical disciplines.
• Prepare power distribution system designs including power, lighting, grounding, and auxiliary systems.
• Perform short circuit studies, protective device coordination, arc flash analyses, and equipment ratings.
• Develop SCCAF models using ETAP/SKM/EasyPower or equivalent.
• Produce reports and recommendations on protection, coordination, and arc flash mitigation.
• Conduct voltage drop, regulation, conductor sizing, distribution capacity studies.
