Job summary

Rosendin Electric in North Carolina is seeking an Engineer II to provide technical engineering support for power distribution, lighting, grounding, and value engineering on complex projects. You will oversee junior engineers, review submittals, generate electrical specifications, develop sequences of operation, and assist with testing, startup, and commissioning.

Candidates should have a B.S. in engineering and 2+ years of experience, with proficiency in ETAP/SKM/EasyPower and Autodesk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of Engineering Experience.
• Engineer-In-Training completed is encouraged to pursue registration as a Professional Engineer.
• LEED AP is desired for this position.
• Combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee junior engineers, designers, and staff on your work or team.
• Review, comment on, and process equipment and system submittals with Engineer of Record.
• Generate electrical specifications for the project.
• Develop complete sequences of operation for electrical systems.
• Support testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate between architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical disciplines.
• Prepare power distribution system designs including feeders and layouts.
• Create single-line diagrams with feeder sizing and protection device selection.
• Perform short circuit studies, coordination studies, arc flash analyses, and equipment rating evaluations.
• Develop SCCAF models using ETAP/SKM/EasyPower.
• Produce technical reports and recommendations on protection and arc flash mitigation.
• Conduct voltage drop, regulation, conductor sizing, and distribution capacity calculations.
• Visit jobsites to collect data and verify conditions.
• Attend design meetings and coordinate with clients, engineers, contractors, and utility reps.
• Travel up to 25%.
