Job summary

Puget Sound Energy's Generation Electrical & Controls (GEC) department is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in Industrial Processes and Controls, Protective Relaying, and related fields to join our team. The role blends field and office work across Washington and Montana, with emphasis on wind and solar projects.

The ideal candidate will review complex designs, support commissioning, and mentor staff while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil or other appropriate engineering field.
• Experience in planning, design, specification preparation, technical field work, project cost estimating and scheduling (typically after 3+ years as a degreed engineer).
• Strong organization, documentation, prioritization, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning and troubleshoot wind and solar generation, instrumentation, PLCs, DCSs, SCADA, and various power generation equipment.
• Propose recommendations for control system upgrades, component replacements and design improvements.
• Manage projects from inception to close-out including: scope, budget, schedule; lead commissioning and start-up; ensure documentation; develop maintenance plans.
