Combined Selection Group Ltd is seeking an Electrical Engineer II for an Arizona site on a contract basis. The role focuses on mid-level project ownership for small-to-medium capital projects, under the guidance of a Senior Electrical Engineer.

You will oversee technical guidance, vendor contracts, AFEs, and regulatory compliance, while supporting larger site initiatives and safety improvements. The position runs on a 4 weeks on / 1 week off rotation with onsite accommodations and transport

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years' related experience or Master's with 2+ years.
• Mining/large industrial or major construction project exposure is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Review and investigate assigned engineering projects and develop recommendations.
• Manage small- to medium-sized construction, expansion, or modification projects end-to-end.
• Administer vendor contracts for services and equipment.
• Develop knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Electrical Engineer II - Arizona Arizona | Contract | 4 Weeks On / 1 Week Off Rotation

We're recruiting for a mid-level Electrical Engineer II role at a large-scale copper mining operation in Arizona. This is a strong fit for an electrical engineer with mining, large industrial or major construction-project exposure who's ready to take ownership of small-to-medium capital projects while working closely with a Senior Electrical Engineer on larger site work.

The Opportunity

You’ll provide technical advice and guidance on assigned electrical engineering projects, helping introduce new technology that improves site safety, efficiency, cost control, quality control and environmental protection. Day to day, you’ll manage small-to-medium construction, expansion and modification projects end to end - including vendor contracts and AFEs for capital funding - while supporting the Senior Engineer on larger, more complex site work and building your knowledge of the local, state and federal regulations that apply to the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and investigate assigned engineering projects and develop appropriate recommendations
• Manage small to medium-sized construction, expansion or modification projects, and assist the Senior Engineer with large or complex site planning, construction, expansion or modification projects
• Administer vendor contracts for the provision of services and equipment
• Develop working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations applicable to the assigned area
• Assist the Senior Engineer with site strategic planning and budgeting for designated engineering areas
• Develop and evaluate Authorizations for Expenditure (AFEs) for capital funding requests
• May represent the site on company-sponsored steering committees, task forces or teams, as assigned

Contract Details

• Start: ASAP
• Contract roster: 4 weeks working onsite / 1 week off at home (off week unpaid)
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, with hours determined by project needs
• Day rate: US$600 per paid working day
• Stipend: US$750 per month while working onsite
• Accommodation: provided (single status)
• Transportation: provided

About You

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline plus three (3) years of related engineering experience; or Master's degree plus two (2) years of related experience
• Well experienced in mining and/or large industrial or construction projects
• Advanced degree or Professional Engineer (PE) certification highly regarded

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, with an understanding of mechanical and process engineering techniques
• Familiarity with and some experience in electronics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control systems
• Skilled in managing small to medium engineering projects
• Ability to research and analyze complex information and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement

Personal Attributes

• Ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards, follow safety practices and recognize hazards
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Comfortable working a 4 weeks on / 1 week off rotational roster
