Brunel is currently searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership, guidance, and expertise for all phases of electrical engineering projects. Lead the development and implementation of engineering solutions that leverage emerging technologies to enhance safety, improve operational efficiency, optimize costs, ensure quality, and support environmental stewardship. Serve as a subject matter expert for complex engineering initiatives and provide technical support to site leadership. Position will be offered on a 4x1 rotation in Bagdad, AZ (4 weeks at site, 1 week off at home).
- Review, investigate, and develop technical recommendations for assigned engineering projects and operational challenges.
- Lead and manage large-scale or complex site construction, expansion, modernization, and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Serve as the site's Electrical Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical guidance and support to operations, maintenance, and management teams.
- Advise site leadership on engineering best practices and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Contribute to site strategic planning, capital planning, and budgeting activities within designated engineering disciplines.
- Develop, justify, and evaluate AFEs (Authorizations for Expenditure) to support capital investment initiatives.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and administer contracts for engineering services, equipment, and project execution.
- Represent the site on company-sponsored committees, task forces, technical working groups, and project teams.
- Identify and implement new technologies, methodologies, and engineering solutions to improve operational performance and reliability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 5 years’ related engineering experience; or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and 3 years’ experience.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and applications in industrial environments.
- Experience with electronics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial control systems, and radio communication systems.
- Broad understanding of mechanical and process engineering concepts and their interaction with electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and execute large-scale, complex engineering projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical information and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to evaluate, recommend, and implement innovative technologies and methods that drive operational improvements.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to identify and mitigate operational hazards.
- Knowledge of engineering design standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferred.
- Experience in mining, heavy industrial, manufacturing, processing, or capital project environments.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and major capital projects.
- MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.
Offer
- This position offers a flat daily rate for days worked only. 5 day work week, 10-hour workdays. All full-time Brunel contractors are eligible for benefits. Your medical, dental and vision will begin on your first day of employment. 401K matching – 50% match, up to 3%.
- Non-local candidates to Bagdad, Arizona will be on a 4x1 rotation and provided single-status, fully furnished accommodations, airfare to/from home, rental car, fuel reimbursement, plus a $750/month stipend for food. Rotation will be 4 weeks on, 1 week off (not working).
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Work is performed in a mining, manufacturing, or industrial plant environment and may involve exposure to:
- Extreme temperatures and humidity, Moving mechanical equipment, Electrical hazards, Toxic chemicals, Explosives, Dust, fumes, and airborne particles.
- While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to:

- Employees may occasionally be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds.

Required PPE may include, and provided by client: Hard hat, Hearing protection, Safety glasses, Safety footwear, Respirator (as required), Rubber steel-toe boots, Protective clothing, Gloves, additional site-specific protective equipment as required.
