Job summary

Alutiiq Information Managment, LLC, a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC, has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer II in San Diego, CA. The role supports IPT for RESTORE laboratory and uses CAD/CAE to produce IRDs, IDP, and TDPs for system sustainment.

The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 4+ years of experience, U.S. citizenship, and an active DoD Secret clearance; travel up to 25% is expected. The pay range is $100,000 to $115,000 annually with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of related experience.
  • Experience creating, editing, or proofreading US Government Engineering documentation and standards (2D/3D drawings, exploded diagrams, assembly diagrams).
  • Knowledge of engineering specs: ASME Y14.100-2004, ASME Y14.5M-2004, MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-130.
  • Knowledge of NAVWAR M-4750.5B (IRD), TD 417 (TDP Development) and COMSPAWAR M-4720.1 (Shore Installation Process Handbook – IDP Development).
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain/reestablish.

Responsibilities

  • Work IPT lead support for RESTORE Laboratory sustainment of DoD Airspace and C4I systems.
  • Use CAD/CAE to develop Installation Requirements Drawings (IRDs), Installation Design Packages (IDP) and Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
  • Perform rack layout, RU allocation, weight distribution and CG calculations for safe rack configurations.
  • Compute electrical load and power for rack-mounted equipment to stay within rack, PDU, UPS, and facility limits.
  • Develop and maintain rack elevation drawings and related engineering documentation.

POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Information Managment, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer II in San Diego, CA. The Electrical Engineer II will perform IPT Lead support functions for Reverse Engineering, Science and Technology for Obsolescence, Repair and Evaluation (RESTORE) Laboratory. This position to support the sustainment of DOD Airspace and C4I systems while institutionalizing new technologies. This includes using Computer Aided Design/Engineering (CAD/CAE) to develop Installation Requirements Drawings (IRDs), Installation Design Package (IDP) and Technical Data Packages (TDPs).

  • The chosen candidate will be required to work directly with the Government customer to assess materials, develop components, assess, interpret, and approve drawing requirements for multiple engineering tasks over a broad range of technology scope.
  • Use Computer Aided Design/Engineering (CAD/CAE) to develop Installation Requirements Drawings (IRDs), Installation Design Package (IDP) and Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
  • Perform equipment rack layout and integration analysis, including rack-unit (RU) allocation, equipment placement, weight distribution, and center-of-gravity calculations to ensure safe and structurally sound rack configurations.
  • Perform electrical load and power-draw calculations for rack-mounted equipment, including current and VA requirements, to ensure total equipment loads remain within rack, PDU, UPS, and facility power limitations.
  • Develop and evaluate equipment rack configurations considering physical space constraints, equipment weight, power requirements, thermal/airflow considerations, cable management, maintainability, and equipment accessibility.
  • Develop and maintain rack elevation drawings and supporting engineering documentation to accurately reflect equipment placement, configuration changes, power requirements, and system integration requirements.

Payrate:$100,000 to $115,000 Annually

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent certification program
  • 4+ years’ related experience.
  • Experience creating, editing, or proofing, US Government Engineering documentation and applicable standards to include 2D Drawings, 3D drawings, exploded diagrams, assembly diagrams, is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of engineering specifications (ASME Y14.100-2004, ASME Y14.5M-2004, MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-130).
  • Knowledge of following standards: NAVWAR M-4750.5B (IRD), SSCPAC Instruction TD 417 (TDP Development) and COMSPAWAR M-4720.1 (Shore Installation Process Handbook – IDP Development) is highly desired.
  • U.S. Citizenship status required.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or be able to obtain or reestablish this level of clearance.
