Job summary

Exelon is seeking an engineer in Chicago to support the planning, design, construction and maintenance of utility infrastructure. You will perform engineering studies, calculations, and permitting to ensure safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

The role involves data collection, complex analysis, and presenting recommendations to management. Collaboration with engineering, operations and external partners is required, with potential storm-duty hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• 2 - 4 years of professional engineering experience.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices.
• Regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods and practices for the discipline.

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering assignments with independent discretion under guidance of a senior engineer (70%).
• Handles large projects or multiple smaller projects and analyzes complex results.
• Directs engineering tasks on large projects or multiple smaller projects as needed.
• Evaluates effectiveness of technical systems and participates on design teams.
