Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Sustainable Building Electrical Engineer for its national AEC client in Chicago. The role covers schematic design to construction administration with emphasis on sustainability, codes, and integrated design.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 4–8 years in building services, strong BIM/documentation skills, and a master’s degree is a plus. LEED knowledge is valued in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related accredited engineering program required.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is a plus.
• 4–8 years of related electrical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required for the Engineer title; Designer designation possible without P.E.
• Experience with electrical engineering analysis, design, and system selection for building applications.
• Strong understanding of building codes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience developing electrical design documentation, including BIM models, drawings, and specifications.
• Participate from schematic design through construction administration.
• Coordinate permitting and regulatory documentation with local agencies.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, sustainability pros, construction teams, and consultants.
• Strong technical communication skills to convey design solutions and performance objectives.
• Research electrical systems, products, codes, and sustainable design practices.
• Experience with construction-phase activities including submittal review and commissioning.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• LEED certification or other sustainable building certification is a plus.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality building systems from schematic design through construction documents and administration.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to meet client objectives, schedules, budgets, and codes.

This company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its growing MEP Engineering team.
