Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Staff Electrical Engineer in Wallingford, CT to lead electrical design across power, process, healthcare, and governmental facilities. You will collaborate with project teams through design and construction, adapting plans to budget and client needs while ensuring accurate drawings.

Responsibilities include conceptual through design completion, CAD updates in AutoCAD and MicroStation, data compilation for client presentations, and field measurements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program with 3 years of electrical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
• Or, Bachelor's in electrical or related engineering technology from ABET-accredited program with FE exam and 3 years of electrical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
• Or, Master's degree in electrical engineering with 2 years of electrical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs and other analysis programs.
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, teamwork, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred Engineers in Training-EIT certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for diverse projects.
• Design electrical components per project managers' requirements.
• Apply knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and codes.
• Research and compile project data as required by managers.
• Update drawings in CAD software to verify corrections.
• Prepare information for client presentations and contract administration.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements or calculations for clients.
