Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join project teams in Orlando, FL. The role involves designing electrical systems for a variety of facilities, adapting plans to budget and client needs, and coordinating through design and construction phases.

Candidates should have an ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree with 3+ years of experience, FE certification (preferred), and strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related ABET-accredited program with 3 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Alternatively, Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology with FE and 3 years experience.
• Master's in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of electrical engineering experience.
• EIT certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical design for telecommunications projects from concept to design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for diverse facilities including power plants, healthcare, and airports.
• Design electrical components per project manager requirements.
• Apply knowledge of engineering concepts, codes, and procedures in electrical design.
• Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
• Update CAD drawings to verify corrections across CAD software.
• Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawings, and contract administration.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
