Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group in Oak Brook, IL, seeks an Electrical Engineer to develop basic electrical designs, from power distribution to one-line drawings, and to perform load studies.

You will gather data, prepare equipment lists, and work with senior staff for review, with opportunities to visit client facilities and gain hands-on field experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• At least 1 year experience in power distribution or related design.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specs, and equipment documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Team-oriented and able to collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze data to prepare basic electrical designs for client projects.
• Develop power distribution designs and one-line drawings.
• Perform electrical load studies and supporting calculations.
• Prepare power equipment lists and support selection of transformers, switchgear, motors, and UPS.
• Develop area classification documentation and lighting/HT drawings.
• Apply industry and client standards to engineering work products.
• Submit completed work to senior staff for review before client presentation.
• Visit client facilities to collect field data and support design development.
