Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead designs for process and industrial facilities. You will ensure quality and timely delivery, interact with clients, perform site visits, and provide hands-on support from specifications to data sheets.

Responsibilities include power system analysis, relay coordination, and programming for electrical equipment, with occasional travel to client sites and Nexus offices. A strong leadership and communication skill set is essential.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in designing electrical distribution/control systems
  • High Voltage Substation Design (up to 345 kV) experience preferred
  • Subsurface and overhead transmission line design experience preferred
  • Project lead experience developing engineering schedules, budgets and forecasts
  • MS Office including MS Project proficiency
  • AutoCAD and 3-D CAD experience a plus
  • Electrical design tools and calculations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and present to clients

Job description

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of engineering designs and reports, particularly in the areas of power distribution and electrical systems for process and industrial facilities. This role involves direct client interaction, conducting site visits, and providing hands‑on support. Responsibilities include preparing specifications and data sheets, conducting power system analysis and relay coordination, and supporting programming for various electrical equipment. The position also requires experience in project leadership, including budget and schedule development, and occasional travel to client sites and Nexus offices.

Education/Certification Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required
  • Advanced degree a plus
  • FE certification desired, PE certification a plus
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
