Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group, Oak Brook, IL, seeks a Senior Power System Studies Engineer to own end-to-end analytical studies that keep industrial power systems safe, reliable, and compliant. You’ll lead modeling in ETAP, EasyPower or SKM, produce detailed reports, and serve as a technical client contact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience performing power system studies for industrial clients.
• Advanced proficiency in ETAP, EasyPower or SKM including building and validating models.
• Deep knowledge of load flow, short-circuit, arc‑flash, protection and relay coordination.
• Ability to own studies from scoping to client-ready deliverables.
• Familiarity with IEEE 1584, IEEE 3000 Series, NFPA 70 & 70E.
• Strong written communication and reporting skills; proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own power system studies end-to-end — scoping, modeling, analysis, QC, and final reports.
• Build and validate models in ETAP, EasyPower, or SKM as required.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc‑flash, protective device and relay coordination studies.
• Handle additional analyses such as dynamic and static motor-starting, harmonics, and ground grid.
• Mentor junior engineers and review work; contribute to templates and standards.
