Job summary

Scientific Applications & Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in Diagnostic Instrumentation to support R&D and transition technologies to DoD, DoE, and contractors in Colorado Springs, CO.

You will join the High Power Electromagnetics Division, working with engineers, physicists, and technicians on programs from conception to operation, with opportunities for growth in a multidisciplinary setting and occasional field testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, physics, or relevant field.
• 0–2 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Willing to travel up to 25%.
• Willing to work odd hours due to testing.
• Strong self-motivation and ability to learn quickly.
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain DoD clearance.
• Experience with data processing software like Excel, MATLAB, Mathcad.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation.
• Set up, execute, analyze, and document lab tests.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain test equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of measurements and records.
• Analyze data to identify issues, trends, and root causes.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and project documentation.
• Support field and off-site testing, including travel.
• Interpret circuit schematics and related electrical documentation.
