Scientific Applications & Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) in Colorado Springs seeks an Engineering Technician to support research and development efforts and transition technologies to DoD and DoE customers.

The role offers hands-on lab work, wiring, diagnostics, and collaboration with engineers and technicians on multiple programs. The candidate should have strong attention to detail, be self-motivated, and capable of independent work in a dynamic environment, with travel up to several weeks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Electrical/hand-on repair experience preferred.
• Comfort with reading blueprints and diagrams.
• Willingness to travel up to 4–6 weeks per year for testing.
• Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• General engineering and maintenance support in lab and field settings.
• Assist in lab setup, diagnostics, testing, and teardown of projects.
• Support prototyping and testing of Pulsed Power and Directed Energy projects.
• Coordinate with engineers to keep projects on schedule.
• Perform electrical wiring, conduit installation, and panel work.
