Job summary

Hydro Extrusions is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead capital projects from scope through execution in aluminum extrusion facilities. You will oversee electrical power and control systems, upgrades, and commissioning, working with plant teams, contractors, and maintenance staff to ensure reliability and efficiency.

The role reports to the Engineering Manager and requires coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to meet safety, cost, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• 5+ years of manufacturing electrical engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with million-dollar capital projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, on-time, and on-budget development and execution of capital projects.
• Provide electrical engineering and design from concept through hand-off using PESHA process.
• Manage contractors to ensure safe, productive execution of work.
• Collaborate with internal/external engineering resources, equipment suppliers, and construction contractors.
• Perform engineering tasks including problem-solving, design calculations, equipment selection, and drawing management.
• Ensure proper operation and safety of equipment and processes.
• Recommend and implement changes to improve manufacturing value and system performance.
• Be present on the shop floor to evaluate progress and troubleshoot issues.

What you will be doing?

Job Summary: This Electrical Engineer will be responsible forleading the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of capital projects ranging from $1M to $40M in aluminum extrusion, fabrication, and billet casting facilities. This role is responsible for electrical power and controls engineering, including equipment upgrades, design, material and service specification, and managing installations, startups, and troubleshooting. The Electrical Engineer will drive projects from scope definition through execution, collaborating with plant teams, contractors, and maintenance personnel to ensure equipment functionality, reliability, and efficiency. The role also includes recommending improvements to enhance equipment and production system performance. This position reports to Engineering Manager.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, on-time, and on-budget development and execution of capital projects.
• Provideelectrical engineering and designfrom concept through hand-off using the established PESHA process.
• Manage contractors to ensure safe and productive execution of work.
• Collaborate with internal/external engineering resources, equipment suppliers, and construction contractors.
• Perform engineering tasks including problem-solving, design calculations, equipment selection, proposal reviews, and drawing management.
• Ensure proper operation and safety of equipment and processes.
• Recommend and implement changes to improve manufacturing value and system performance.
• Ensure processes are capable, controlled, and meet delivery and cost targets.
• Be present on the shop floor as needed, including accessing equipment via ladders or high reaches to evaluate progress and troubleshoot issues.

What will make you successful?

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. (required)
• At least 5 years of professionalexperience in a manufacturing environment as an electrical engineer.(required)
• Experience managing million dollar capital projects. (preferred)
• Experience reviewing and evaluating electrical designs for new indsutrial equipment. (preferred)
• Experience with industrial power distribution systems. (preferred)
