Job Summary: The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing engineering expertise to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of aluminum extrusion manufacturing equipment and processes. This position leads mechanical engineering projects, equipment improvements, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and other engineering functions.
Required Education/ Experience:
Preferred Skills/ Qualifications:
Experience supporting mechanical equipment in a large-scale industrial manufacturing environment, such as metals, aluminum, steel, foundry, automotive, or heavy process manufacturing.
Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting, system improvements, and failure analysis.
Experience designing or implementing machine guarding, fail-safe systems, and engineering controls that reduce employee exposure to hazards.
Ability to evaluate equipment layouts, maintenance access requirements, and space utilization for new equipment installations and plant modifications.
Experience investigating structural integrity concerns involving industrial equipment, lifting systems, cranes, or supporting structures.
