Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Raleigh, NC seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead design teams on a range of projects including commercial offices, educational facilities, healthcare, and industrial buildings. You will guide the design through from concept to construction and adapt plans to budget and client needs.

You will supervise the preparation of equipment specs, review vendor drawings, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure QA/QC across CAD tools like AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or related ABET degree with 3+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• FE exam completed and PE path encouraged.
• Strong knowledge of standard electrical engineering techniques and codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead design teams and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from concept through design completion.
• Prepare equipment specs, RFQs and data sheets.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers and clients.
• Develop project schedules, scope, and staffing plans; control change orders.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure QA/QC on drawings.
• Coordinate with field personnel for installations and testing.
