Job summary

Jobot, a private Civil Engineering firm, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Chicago team. This permanent role offers the chance to work on transportation projects and CAD-driven design using MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Revit alongside skilled engineers and architects.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of Electrical Engineer experience with focus on transportation, CAD solutions, MicroStation, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar.
• Site layout, grading, utility design, regulatory approvals.
• Project management and supervision skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and lead projects.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Electrical Engineer to join our team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and highly skilled team of engineers and architects in the Engineering industry. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on a variety of projects, including transportation, CADD solutions, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Revit. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

1. Designing and developing electrical systems for various projects, with a focus on transportation, CADD solutions, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Revit.
2. Collaborating with a team of engineers and architects to conceptualize, design, and implement innovative electrical systems.
3. Performing detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
4. Inspecting installations and observing operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
5. Using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
6. Directing and coordinating manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
7. Preparing and studying technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
8. Investigating customer or public complaints, determining the nature and extent of the problem, and recommending remedial measures.

Qualifications

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, with a focus on transportation, CADD solutions, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Revit.
3. Proficient in the use of 2D or 3D engineering design and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
4. Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar.
5. Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, regulatory approvals, etc.
6. Project management and supervision skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work in a team and lead projects.
9. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
10. Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
