Qualifications

• Level III requires 2 years of drafting with an associate/technical degree in Industrial Technology, Drafting or Design OR 6 months+ drafting with a 4-year degree. OR HS diploma/GED with 4 years drafting experience.
• Senior requires 4 years of drafting with an associate/technical degree OR 2+ years with a Bachelor's in Industrial Technology, Drafting or Design OR HS diploma/GED with 6 years drafting experience.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience and experience with AutoCAD or equivalent system.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support your drafting team to foster communication and cohesion.
• Monitor project progress, address challenges, and ensure accuracy and quality in deliverables.
• Assist supervisor with project pipeline, team workload, and resource allocation.
• Back-check team members’ work and ensure drafting standards and company values are met.
• Collaborate with engineering to deliver designs that meet customer standards.
• Participate in hiring and evaluating team members.
• Create drawing packages including Protection & Controls and Substation deliverables.
• Approve and verify team member timesheets.

ELECTRICAL DRAFTER TEAM LEAD - METAIRIE

Ampirical is growing, and we’re expanding our drafting leadership team to support that growth. This role exists to provide hands‑on leadership, mentorship, and quality oversight for our Relay drafting teams as project volume continues to scale. After a structured 3-6 month training period in our Covington office, this leader will transition to our Metairie office to manage and develop local drafting teams alongside our other Team Lead in Metairie.

We’re seeking a Relay Drafting Team Lead who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality engineering solutions. In this pivotal role, you’ll guide a team of drafting specialists, ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

• Lead & Mentor: Provide direction, coaching, and support to your drafting team, fostering communication and team cohesion.

What You Bring:

Minimum Requirements

Experience & Education :

Level III:

• Minimum 2 years of drafting experience with associate/technical degree in Industrial Technology, Drafting or Design OR 6 months + of drafting experience with a 4-year degree in Industrial Technology, Drafting or Design OR in lieu of degrees a High School Diploma / GED and 4 years of drafting experience.

Senior:

• Minimum 4 years of drafting experiencewith associate/technical degree in Industrial Technology, Draftin or Design OR 2+ years of drafting experience with a Bachelors Degree in in Industrial Technology, Drafting or design OR in lieu of degrees a High School Diploma / GED and 6 years of drafing experience.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership type experience
• Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent system
