Job summary

Kiewit Engineering Group, Inc. in the Power division seeks a Lead Electrical Designer to guide a design team on EPC projects for power generation.

You will manage electrical raceway design, interface with other disciplines, and drive safety, cost effectiveness, and constructability from concept through construction. Based in Phoenix or related offices, this role requires 5+ years in electrical design, proficiency in 3D modeling and NEC, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical design experience.
• Power generation experience preferred.
• Proficient with SmartPlant 3D.
• Experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Experience designing cable tray from concept to completion.
• Experience in grounding systems.
• Experience utilizing the NEC.
• Ability to conceptualize in a 3D environment.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion.
• Perform NEC-based conduit and cable tray sizing calculations.
• Route electrical cables in 3D to generate a cable schedule.
• Layout electrical equipment in electrical buildings.
• Develop 3D models using drawings, sketches, design skills.
• Check 3D models for interferences and constructability.
• Collaborate in project meetings and with other disciplines.
