Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Lead Electrical Designer to drive EPC project design work for power generation. You will lead a design team developing electrical raceway systems, interface with disciplines, and manage budgets and schedules.

The role emphasizes safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs aligned with client expectations. The position can be based in Lenexa, KS or other listed office locations; remote-start arrangements exist for certain markets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in electrical design.
• Experience leading electrical design teams.
• Experience managing budget and schedule.
• Power generation experience preferred.
• Experience in 3D design with SmartPlant 3D.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of electrical designers in developing electrical raceway systems.
• Manage electrical design activities against project schedule and budget.
• Track and report design progression to project management and teammates.
• Complete monthly reports for quantities, schedule and forecasting.
• Interface with construction to ensure design is safe, constructible, and low cost.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, engineers and construction on the design.
• Check design deliverables for accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Coordinate with the Project Database for RFRs, ECNs, RFIs, and related functions.
• Mentor and support the design team.
