Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a drafting-focused professional to join a hybrid team in the United States. You will develop and expand CAD drafting skills within a multi-disciplinary group of designers and engineers, creating scaled design drawings and master sketches aligned to project specifications.

You will participate in on-site client walkdowns, coordinate with vendors, and apply 3D design tools to support design iterations while ensuring precise dimensions and integration with existing

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a technical area including drafting or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience
• Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e MicroStation)
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
• Knowledge in MicroStation
• Ability to multi-task from project to project
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design

Responsibilities

• Utilize and expand drafting skills in a multi-disciplined team environment with designers and engineers to prepare design drawings from input
• Apply computer-aided drafting skills with hands-on training in 3D design software environments
• Create master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities with exact specifications and dimensions
• Accompany and assist experienced designers on client facility walkdowns to gather information for design projects
• Interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings for appropriate design adjustments
