Job summary

Giga seeks an Electrical Designer to craft power systems for data centers and power generation projects. You will own end-to-end design packages, coordinate in 3D with other disciplines, and support fast-moving projects.

Based in hubs like San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston with onsite expectations, exceptional candidates outside hubs may be considered. 5+ years and NEC/NFPA knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years electrical design on data centers or heavy facilities.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills and strong Revit coordination.
• Experience taking design from concept to IFC with minimal oversight.
• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA standards and power distribution.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical design package for data center and power generation sites.
• Coordinate design against Revit model in 3D.
• Develop medium-voltage distribution designs.
• Maintain AutoCAD drawings to Giga standards.
• Support electrical design calculations (conductor sizing, voltage drop).
• Route and size power/instrumentation cabling.
• Design to NEC/NFPA and AHJ requirements.
• Review vendor submittals and verify interfaces.
• Support permitting and interconnection drawings.
• Issue drawings through Forma and Bluebeam reviews.
• Assist Procurement with BOMs and requisitions.
• Field-verify conditions and produce as-built drawings.
• Comment on RFIs and travel to sites.
