Job summary

Giga Energy is hiring an Electrical Designer to craft power systems for fast‑paced data center projects. You will own end‑to‑end design packages, coordinate in 3D with Revit, and ensure compliance with NEC/NFPA and local codes. This hybrid role is based in SF/LA/Houston and involves onsite work with bi‑weekly WFH Fridays.

You will collaborate with Electrical Engineers, Procurement, and Construction, maintain standards, and drive design accuracy through IFC to project close.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical design experience on data centers, power generation, or heavy commercial facilities.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills and production design experience.
• Ability to read and coordinate within Revit models for multi-discipline clash detection.
• Experience taking design from concept through IFC with minimal hand-holding.
• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA 70 and applicable electrical design standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication across Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce the electrical design package for data center and power generation sites.
• Develop electrical site plans, ductbank and trench layouts, conduit routing, equipment pad layouts.
• Coordinate design against the federated Revit model in 3D to catch clashes.
• Maintain AutoCAD drawings to Giga standards and manage document control.
• Support calculations: conductor sizing, voltage drop, ampacity, and derating.
• Assist with permitting, utility interconnection, and submittals.
• Respond to RFIs with clear, buildable guidance.
