Job summary

IMEG is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead design for building electrical systems and BIM-enabled projects. You will interact with clients to gather requirements and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver designs that meet code and IMEG quality standards.

The role requires strong technical skills in power systems, circuit theory, and electromagnetism, plus experience with BIM tools and industry software. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• EIT certification preferred.
• 3+ years in building design consulting (4+ preferred) OR 7+ years in building design/construction (8+ preferred).
• Associates degree/certificate in BIM or Engineering preferred.
• Proficiency with BIM design techniques and industry software.
• Strong technical/analytical skills across circuit theory, electromagnetism, and power systems.
• Knowledge of IES standards and energy compliance tools.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for electrical systems, using software to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per code and IMEG standards.
• Interact with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate effectively to build relationships.
• Support project execution with planning, budgeting, scheduling, and documenting design decisions and progress.
• Analyze problems and collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical solutions.
• Provide in-process design reviews and ensure designs meet IMEG quality standards.
• Stay updated on industry trends and contribute to R&D and innovation.
• Prioritize safety in all engineering activities and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Identify potential project issues and escalate to the Project Manager.
• Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phases.
