Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks a lead designer responsible for the comprehensive delivery of electrical and instrumentation deliverables. You will guide a team of designers, ensure on-time project execution within budget, and maintain high quality under minimal supervision.

The role requires extensive experience, familiarity with NEC, and the ability to mentor staff, coordinate with disciplines, and support startup activities on site.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD is required.
• 15+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Ability to size wires/conduits and perform lighting level calculations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical direction to a team of designers.
• Deliver electrical and instrumentation deliverables on time and within budget.
• Provide on-site assistance during startup.
• Mentor subordinates and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Produce 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specifications and related drawings.
• Develop equipment specifications and construction cost estimates.
