Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Mobile, AL seeks an experienced lead designer in electrical and instrumentation to supervise a design team and deliver complete electrical deliverables. You will work under minimal supervision, apply NEC standards, and coordinate with clients to define scopes and schedules.

Ideal candidate has 15+ years of industrial experience, a strong background in 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specifications, and mentoring skills for staff development.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
• Proficiency with NEC and installation detailing.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection; perform voltage drop calculations.
• Experience leading a design staff and coordinating across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a team of designers to deliver electrical and instrumentation deliverables on time and within budget.
• Produce 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specifications with engineering review.
• Coordinate with clients to define scopes and respond to technical questions.
• Provide mentoring and project coordination to ensure quality and progress.
• Perform on-site support during startup and commissioning.
