Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a seasoned Lead Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer in the Birmingham area to guide a team of engineers and designers. You will deliver electrical and instrumentation deliverables on time, within budget, and to quality standards, acting as a technical specialist on complex projects.

The ideal candidate possesses 15+ years of industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, a BS/MS in EE, and PE registration is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• 15+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering.
• Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
• Knowledge and application of the NEC and electrical design standards.
• Ability to lead a small team to deliver on commitments.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and approving all electrical deliverables.
• Validating professional service and construction estimates; tracking changes.
• Producing detailed design calculations and material take-offs.
• Developing design criteria and scope of work; establishing project design basis.
• Planning and organizing the work of the team; communicating plans to leadership and client.
• Maintaining project control over budget, schedule and quality.
• Producing construction specifications and bid packages for procurement.
