Job summary

TechServ Engineering in the United States is seeking an Associate Engineer / Engineer / Senior Engineer to design electrical distribution, transmission, and substation systems. You will lead project teams, interface with clients, and apply ANSI/IEEE standards throughout concept to construction phases.

The role requires effective communication, CAD skills, and the ability to work both independently and with a team. Regular in-office collaboration and travel around 20% are expected.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university.
• Knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE Standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
• Basic computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs and other analysis programs.
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time and project management capabilities to meet deadlines.
• Inquisitive by nature, self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD software to meet client requirements.
• Lead project engineer role and interface with clients to manage projects.
• Apply electrical engineering concepts within utility design.
• Train and coach newer engineers.
• Interpret client requirements with designers.
• Assist in electrical design from concept through completion.
• Prepare data sheets and RFQs using good engineering practices.
• Maintain QA/QC and ensure drawings meet standards.
• Communicate solutions clearly and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support internal change efforts to improve effectiveness.
