Job summary

OEI (O'Brien Engineering & Architecture) in Dallas, TX, seeks a full-time Electrical Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our dynamic MEP team. You will work on municipal, land development, healthcare, industrial, and federal projects using Revit and AutoCAD.

The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary A/E team and may involve travel to project sites. LEED accreditation is preferred but not required; PE licensure in Texas or eligibility is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing electrical and low-voltage systems for commercial buildings, healthcare and federal projects.
• Experience with central plants, hydronic, steam/VRF and energy recovery systems.
• Knowledge of IBC, IECC, IMC, ASHRAE and NFPA codes and standards.
• Design coordination with mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and architectural disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and related controls for building projects.
• Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.
• Attend client meetings and represent electrical interests of the firm.
• Supervise installation of designed systems at project sites.
• Assist in defining project scope and travel to sites as needed.
