Job summary

OEI (O’Brien Engineering & Architecture) seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer/PE with 10+ years of electrical design experience focused on DoD and federal projects. The role involves Revit/AutoCAD design, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and occasional site travel to support municipal, healthcare, and government facilities.

The candidate should hold a Texas PE or be willing to obtain Texas licensure within 12 months, with strong knowledge of UPC/IPC/IMC/NFPA/ASHRAE/IBC and energy

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical design experience required.
• 6+ years of Department of Defense (DOD) design experience (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 projects as DOR/EOR.
• Experience with central plants, hydronic, steam/VRF and energy recovery systems.
• Working knowledge of UPC, IPC, IMC, NFPA, ASHRAE & IBC codes.
• Proficient in Revit and building load and energy modeling software including SKM, Bluebeam, AutoCAD.
• Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas (or license in another state with plan to obtain Texas license within 12 months).
• LEED accreditation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop building system concepts from schematics through construction administration.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Supervise installation of the designed systems and equipment.
• Provide design support for electrical systems and controls.
• Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.
• Travel to project sites as needed.
