Job summary

CareerPros, LLC is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in the NE Iowa / Dubuque County area. This full-time, direct-hire role involves designing, testing, and improving electrical systems for industrial equipment, from concept and prototyping through production launch.

You will design wiring diagrams, manage BOMs, source components, and develop PLC control programs, collaborating with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams to ensure safety standards and product reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical design or industrial product development preferable.
• Familiarity with electrical components and UL/CSA standards preferred.
• Experience creating and modifying wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, and release wiring diagrams, BOMs, and testing procedures.
• Manage engineering projects from concept through production launch.
• Identify, source, and specify electrical components.
• Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and product improvements.
• Develop PLC control programs with manufacturer software.
• Research alternative components and processes to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Conduct certification testing and maintain compliance documentation.
• Support certification audits and participate in standards committees.
