Powerus is building a next-generation American autonomous systems platform and seeks an Electrical Design Assurance Engineer to review electronic assemblies before release, including derating and worst-case analysis, and to perform electrical FMEA. The role requires reading schematics and PCB layouts and communicating findings to Reliability Engineering for test planning.
Location is near Charlotte, NC, with US residency required.
Powerus is building a next-generation American autonomous systems platform designed to move, protect, and sustain critical assets in high-consequence environments. The company combines advanced autonomy, manufacturing capability, operational expertise, and strategic acquisitions to support defense, national security, critical infrastructure, and commercial operations globally.
Our mission is to deliver resilient autonomous technologies that strengthen national security, improve operational safety, and expand the capabilities of organizations operating in complex environments.
Powerus electronics must operate across temperature, vibration, and electrical stress in fielded conditions, and a design error found after fielding must be corrected aircraft by aircraft.
This role reviews electrical designs analytically before release: derating, worst-case circuit analysis, and electrical FMEA. Physical environmental testing is run by Reliability Engineering; this role works from schematics, layouts, and component data.
Powerus is seeking an Electrical Design Assurance Engineer to perform independent analytical review of electronic assembly designs before release, including derating, worst-case circuit analysis, and electrical failure modes and effects analysis.
Candidates should be able to present a design defect they found through analysis or review that would otherwise have reached production, together with the analysis that found it.
