Job summary

Powerus is seeking an Electronic Components Engineer to manage electronic component selection, qualification, approved parts lists, obsolescence, and alternate parts. This role owns electronic parts at the part-number level: selection, qualification, the approved parts list, and obsolescence.

Supplier-level quality is owned by Supplier Quality Engineering, and commercial terms by Strategic Sourcing. Maintain the approved parts list and component library data, evaluate and qualify new components,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in components engineering or electronic hardware design.
• Working knowledge of passive, discrete, and integrated circuit components and their datasheets.
• Experience with component databases and lifecycle tools.
• Experience with PLM or ERP systems.
• U.S. Person status required (ITAR/EAR data access).

Responsibilities

• Maintain the approved parts list and component library data.
• Evaluate and qualify new components and alternates.
• Monitor component lifecycle and manage obsolescence.
• Identify alternates for long-lead and single-source components.
• Verify component compliance with NDAA, RoHS, and REACH requirements.
• Define part authentication and counterfeit-avoidance requirements for electronic parts.
• Review bills of materials for availability and risk before release.

• Monitor component lifecycle and manage obsolescence
• Identify alternates for long-lead and single-source components
• Verify component compliance with NDAA, RoHS, and REACH requirements
• Define part authentication and counterfeit-avoidance requirements for electronic parts
• Review bills of materials for availability and risk before release

Qualifications

• Must be located in the United States, within commuting distance of Charlotte, NC
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience in components engineering or electronic hardware design
• Working knowledge of passive, discrete, and integrated circuit components and their datasheets
• Experience with component databases and lifecycle tools
• Experience with PLM or ERP systems
• U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)); this role involves access to ITAR- and EAR-controlled technical data

Required Skills

• Experience in components engineering or electronic hardware design
• Working knowledge of passive, discrete, and integrated circuit components and their datasheets
• Experience with component databases and lifecycle toolsExperience with PLM or ERP systems

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SiliconExpert, Z2Data, or comparable tools
• Working knowledge of NDAA Section 889 and Section 848 restrictions
• Experience with AS5553 counterfeit prevention
• Experience in aerospace or defense electronics
• Candidates should be able to describe a product kept in production through a shortage or obsolescence event because alternates had been qualified in advance.
