Job summary

U.S. Electrical Services, Inc. (USESI) in Old Saybrook, CT is seeking a motivated Counter Sales Associate to join our team. This role focuses on assisting customers at the sales counter, by phone and email, while processing orders and returns and supporting walk-in customers.

As part of a large network with 150 locations and a history spanning over a century, you will help maintain inventory, coordinate transfers, and contribute to growing counter sales, with a emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior customer service experience required.
• Electrical product knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in warehouse conditions.
• Team-oriented with eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the sales counter, by phone, and via email.
• Create and manage sales orders, returns (RGAs), and inventory transfers.
• Provide quotes, place orders, and support walk-in customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized counter and warehouse area.
• Support order fulfillment, including stock placement, will call preparation, and general warehouse tasks.
• Proactively track and follow up on orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and follow all company procedures.
• Expand customer base and grow counter sales and profits.
• Other duties assigned by the manager.
