Job summary

Echo Electric, a Sonepar brand and leading electrical distributor, seeks a motivated Counter Sales Representative in Ames to assist customers during the sales process, maintain product knowledge, and support warehouse duties as needed.

You will track orders, communicate effectively, and build strong customer relationships while contributing to a safe, efficient store environment. Shift: 8 AM–5 PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (Echo requirement).
• At least 1 year experience in electrical industry or knowledge of electrical products.
• Ability to communicate effectively and stay organized.
• Able to stand long periods and traverse warehouse.
• Basic computer skills and problem solving.
• EDGE and EPEC Bronze Level or plan to complete within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers during the sales process using ERP software and maintain professional demeanor.
• Track and fulfill sales orders, prepare documentation, and follow up calls.
• Maintain and develop customer relationships.
• Stay up to date on product knowledge and stock requests.
• Create and maintain safe, clean working environment.
