Job summary

Echo Electric, a brand owned by Sonepar, is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to support customers in the sales process and assist with warehouse functions.

This full-time role runs 8 AM–5 PM, Monday–Friday in Ames, IA. You will develop product knowledge, use ERP software, maintain relationships, and help fulfill orders while promoting new products. Join a team that values growth, safety, and a strong local presence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent as determined by Echo Electric.
• At least 1 year of experience in the electrical industry or knowledge of electrical products.
• Ability to communicate effectively, stay organized and work within a team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and move through a warehouse.
• Basic problem-solving skills and computer skills.
• Completion of EDGE and EPEC Bronze Level or commitment to complete within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers during the sales process using ERP software and maintain a professional sales demeanor.
• Track and fulfill sales orders by picking orders, creating documentation, and making follow-up calls.
• Maintain and develop customer relationships.
• Stay up to date on product knowledge and generate stock requests.
• Create and maintain positive working relationships and a safe, clean environment.
