Job summary

New Horizons Baking Company in Norwalk, Ohio hires an Electrical Controls Technician to maintain and improve electrical control systems in our production environment. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairs, and modernization to ensure reliable operations.

You will collaborate with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and equipment manufacturers; responsibilities include preventive maintenance, upgrading PLC programs, and documenting system changes while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• 3–5 years of industrial electrical control systems experience.
• Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, motors, safety circuits, motion control, and industrial networking.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, relays, safety circuits, process instrumentation, and industrial electrical control systems.
• Maintain AC/DC drives, motors, VFDs, servo systems, and related electrical components.
• Apply ladder logic, electrical schematics, documentation, and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
• Modify PLC programs and electrical control systems to improve processes and reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve electrical systems and production performance.
• Analyze process data to support troubleshooting and data-driven decisions.
• Assist with installations, startup, testing, and commissioning of new or modified equipment.
