Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to contribute to design documentation and BIM model setup using Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD. You will collaborate with discipline leads and engineers to deliver coordinated 3D models and 2D drawings across all design disciplines.

The role requires strong BIM skills, electrical systems knowledge, effective communication, and the ability to estimate design hours. A hybrid work arrangement is offered with opportunities across U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• Growing understanding of codes and standards shaping design decisions.
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts from mark-ups/direction.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Design documentation and setup/management of Revit BIM models.
• Coordinate BIM models with other discipline leads and team members.
• Create and manage fully coordinated 3D models across disciplines and produce 2D construction drawings.
• Collaborate with designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers to translate design intent into constructible deliverables.
