We are looking for a Electrical Automation Technician to join our Çima Americas Team!

This position is located in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities include:

• Reconstructing, repairing, disassembling, and assembling electrical systems, PLC equipment, automation systems, switch cabinets, circuit breakers, controllers, encoders, fuses, sensors, load cells, motors, switches, converters, transformers, etc.
• Performing electrical testing and calibration
• Performing routine preventative maintenance
• Ensuring proper and safe operation of equipment
• Identifying faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics
• Determining immediate maintenance needs and responding appropriately
• Attending daily meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime
• Assessing the condition of used parts
• Maintaining parts and tools inventory
• Preparing maintenance reports as required
• Maintaining cleanliness and order in tools, equipment, and work areas
• Interacting with vendors and outside service providers
• Using PC and PLC programming to troubleshoot process control issues for automated machinery
• Participating in training of apprentices and new employees

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience as an industrial electrician
• Texas Journeyman Electrician License or Texas Industrial Electrician License
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of electrical installation tools, hand tools, power tools, cranes, and industrial equipment
• Advanced knowledge of AC Motor and VFD systems, Power Distribution, and Motor Control Systems, Transformers, contactors, breakers, motors, encoders, sensors, and instruments
• Understanding of PLC systems (Rockwell/Allen Bradley with Studio5000 is a plus)
• Ability to identify colored cables by sight
• Good understanding of blueprints, single line diagrams, and schematic drawings
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic equipment and systems
• Knowledge of lubrication theory and systems
