Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC is seeking a Graduate Engineer to design overhead and subsurface utility systems, delivering creative solutions across electrical, structural, civil, and construction challenges. You will own the design lifecycle from initiation through closeout and engage more with client communication and risk management than entry roles.

Locations include Philadelphia or Norristown, PA; travel is typically under 25%.

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited BS in Engineering or related field.
• EIT Certification preferred.
• 1.5+ years of relevant experience.
• US driver’s license and US work authorization.
• Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong Office365 skills.
• In-depth knowledge of 2D CADD software (AutoCAD or similar) including generating layout drawings.
• Understanding of remote communication software.
• Ability to quickly come up to speed on in‑process projects.
• Experience collaborating with teams on larger projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Persistence and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering systems for overhead and subsurface utility projects.
• Deploy creative solutions to address complex electrical, structural, civil, and construction challenges.
• Own all phases of the design lifecycle from initiation to closeout.
• Prepare detailed engineering documents using AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and client platforms.
• Analyze information from surveys, atlas data, field sketches and datasheets.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly.
• Work with project management to manage project risk.
• Communicate complex engineering matters to project teams.
• Independently manage time to meet milestones.
• Perform field walkdowns with stakeholders.
• Travel typically <25%.
