Job summary

PCL Construction in Abilene, TX is hiring an Electrical Apprentice (Year 1-4). You will work under licensed electricians to gain hands-on experience in wiring, installation, maintenance, and repair, with full sponsorship into an approved apprenticeship.

The role offers hourly pay between $23.63 and $32.00, plus a $10.00 per hour project incentive. Schedule is Mon–Sat, 10 hours/day (6/10). Per diem up to $178/day for eligible travelers, with standard benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or willing to enroll; PCL will sponsor you.
• Understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
• Good communication skills for effective collaboration and learning.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions on construction sites; capable of lifting, standing and walking for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Help install and repair wiring systems, electrical fixtures, and equipment.
• Installing conduits including bending, cutting and threading up to 4-inch diameter rigid steel to hold electrical wires and cables.
• Replacing conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed.
• Installing conductors, terminating (SES, panel boards, motor controls, PLC’s, instruments, and junction boxes).
• Learn to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, blueprints, and electrical codes.
• Have good basic understanding of NFPA70E and the NEC.

Job Overview: An Electrical Apprentice (Year 1- Year 4) work under the supervision of licensed electricians to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in the field. Is responsible for performing a variety of electrical tasks including installation, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

Positions are available in Abilene, Texas.

Compensation: $23.63 - $32.00 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

Project Incentive Pay - This project offers $10.00 / hour incentive paid on top of the base hourly rate for all hours worked on the project.

Schedule: Monday–Saturday: 10 hours per day (6/10 schedule).

Per Diem: For eligible travelers, a per diem of $178 per day worked is available. Restrictions apply.
