Job summary

PCL Construction in Abilene, Texas is seeking an Electrical Journeyman to install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures on a commercial project. The role involves handling conduit work, wiring, readings of drawings, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install, bend, cut and thread conduits up to 4-inch diameter rigid steel.
• Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
• Replace conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed.
• Install conductors, termination of SES, panel boards, motor controls, PLCs, instruments, and junction boxes.
• Read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Start up and commissioning experience is an asset.
• Understand NFPA70E and NEC safety requirements.
• Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety regulations and codes.

Job Overview: The Electrician position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and safety standards. Responsibilities may also include the installation of electrical control systems and manual labor tasks related to electrical work. Additionally, the Electrician will be required to complete necessary reports and forms related to safety and project progress.

Position available in Abilene, Texas

Compensation:

Unlicensed $35

Licensed $40

Project Incentive Pay -This project offers a $10.00 / hour incentive paid on top of the base hourly rate for all hours worked on the project.

Schedule: Monday–Saturday: 10 hours per day (6/10 schedule).

Per diem: For eligible travelers, a per diem of $178 per day worked is available. Restrictions apply.

Job Functions:

• Installing conduits including bending, cutting and threading up to 4-inch diameter rigid steel
• Installing and repairing electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
• Replacing conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed.
• Installing conductors, terminating (SES, panel boards, motor controls, PLC’s, instruments, and junction boxes).
• Have the ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Start up and commissioning experience is an asset but not required.
• Have a basic understanding of NFPA70E and the NEC.
• Ensuring all electrical systems comply with safety regulations and codes.

Qualifications:

• Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of electrical components and systems.
• Problem-Solving:Ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues.
• Attention to Detail:Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
• Training:Completion of an apprenticeship program, which includes both classroom instruction and on-the-job training.
• Physical Requirements:Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditionsand challenging terrains typical of construction sites.
• Experience with industrial or commercial electrical work is a plus.
