Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems Division is seeking an Electrical Application Engineer in California with hybrid work options in Roseville or Pleasanton and up to 25% travel. The role focuses on developing technical applications, proposals, and pricing strategies for complex opportunities, coordinating with cross-functional teams to maximize customer value.

The position offers a salary range of $108,000 to $158,000 annually and eligibility for a sales incentive program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience in electrical field.
• Minimum 3 years in application engineering, proposal development, or related areas.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 25%.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of technical proposals, bid packages, cost estimates, and pricing strategies for power distribution projects in the West Region.
• Serve as technical advisor to Sales and internal teams, delivering custom solutions for national accounts and data centers.
• Analyze project specs and develop technical and commercial solutions, including subcontractor scopes and vendor coordination.
• Support engineering services, digital solutions, and training programs in the portfolio.
• Improve proposal processes, pricing models, and quotation tools with cross-functional teams.
• Lead handoff activities and identify opportunities for expanded scope.
• Conduct customer presentations and site visits to understand requirements and promote Eaton solutions.
• Track proposals and maintain customer relationships to meet deadlines.
• Mentor junior staff and pursue ongoing professional development.
• Travel up to 25% to support customers and regional initiatives.
