Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an entry-level Transmission Truck Driver to support construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. The role involves work at various sites and occasional travel to other states as needed by customer demands.

You will perform essential tasks such as stringing overhead wire, setting poles, and assisting with transformers, switchgear, and high-voltage systems. A strong emphasis on safety and manual labor is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Understand proper use of company radio.
• Understand operation of heavy equipment.
• Basic rigging, hand lines, and lineman knot tying.
• Proper use and maintenance of hand tools.
• Capable of receiving and following directions.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while constructing, maintaining or repairing energized/de-energized transmission work.
• Stringing overhead wire.
• Setting poles and anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses in transformers and clear faulted circuits.
• Frequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring care to protect lives.
• Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Does all other related work as required to complete the job.
