Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an entry-level Transmission Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission lines. The role involves working at various locations and may require travel to another state based on customer demands.

Responsibilities include stringing overhead wire, setting poles, installing components, and assisting with transformers and switchgear. Physical labor and safety compliance are essential, with frequent exposure to high voltage

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience or equivalent training.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
• A CDL is preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work outside of normal hours, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform overhead line work including stringing wire and setting poles.
• Assist with installing transformers, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits.
• Work with energized high voltage systems and maintain PPE and tools.
• Maintain company vehicles and equipment in good condition.
• Learn basic rigging, hand lines and lineman knot tying.
